Dr. Padmanabhan is a Canadian-certified specialist in General Adult Psychiatry and
a member of both the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) and the Royal College of Physicians and
Surgeons of Canada. He completed his medical
degree in 2000 (India) and obtained his basic and higher
specialist degrees in psychiatry from the UK in 2013.
He currently serves as the Department Head for
Psychiatry at Delta Hospital and works as a Consulting Psychiatrist at BrainStim Clinic, as well as with
the START Team in Vancouver and the Rapid Access Clinic in Richmond. He is actively involved in quality
initiatives within Fraser Health and has played a key role in community mental health redesign,
Improving Access and flow by smooth transition of stable patients back to primary care and 7-Day
Follow-Up Clinic.
Dr. Padmanabhan has a certificate in Physician Leadership from the Sauder School of
Business. He has also contributed to clinical trials for Parkinson’s disease and depression and has a
special interest in long-acting injections for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. His primary focus
areas include the collaborative care model and adult ADHD. He is also a Clinical Instructor for UBC.
