Sharon Willan, R.N.
Sharon began her 37 year career in health care as a Health Care Worker with the developmentally disabled at Tranquille, and then at Woodlands. In 1989, she transferred to Riverview Hospital (RVH) to work with psychiatric patients. Sharon became a Registered Nurse, a member of the College of Registered Nurses of BC and Association of Registered Nurses after graduating from Kwantlen University-College in 1998.
Starting in 2001 at RVH, she became an Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) nurse for 14 years. After completing the Advanced Specialty Certificate in Critical Care and Post-Anesthetic recovery at BCIT in 2004, she also became a code blue team member and worked with medically ill, psychiatric patients. She has taught multidisciplinary students, family members and coworkers about neurostimulation and psychiatric disorders. After RVH closed in 2012, Sharon continued working in the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation clinic as its coordinator at Vancouver General Hospital, until it closed in 2016. She administered most of the TMS treatments there, and was also involved in a variety of research projects related to TMS for those with Depression or post-traumatic stress disorder.
