Advanced Solutions for Trauma

Trauma can leave lasting effects on how you think, feel, and respond to the world. If you are experiencing persistent anxiety, emotional distress, or difficulty functioning after a traumatic experience, specialized treatment options may be worth discussing with a clinician.

At BrainStim Health, we provide trauma treatment options, including Deep TMS and psychotherapy, following a psychiatric assessment.

Our team will work with you to understand your symptoms, history and goals.

Understanding Trauma

Trauma occurs when an experience overwhelms your ability to cope, leading to lasting changes in how your brain processes stress and safety. PTSD is a mental health disorder that may develop following trauma when symptoms persist and significantly affect a person’s daily life. While trauma and PTSD are closely related, experiencing trauma does not necessarily mean someone will develop PTSD.

Common symptoms of trauma include:

Why Trauma Treatment Needs a Different Approach

Trauma affects both emotional and physiological systems in the brain. It is not just about memories. It changes how your nervous system responds to stress, safety, and relationships.

Different people respond to different approaches, and a clinician can discuss which options may be appropriate for you.

Deep TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation)

Deep TMS is a non-invasive treatment that uses magnetic pulses directed at specific regions of the brain. A clinician can assess whether Deep TMS or another service is appropriate based on your symptoms, previous treatment, and individual health factors.

About TMS:

• Delivered under psychiatrist-led care, with your treatment plan shaped by assessment

• Whether TMS is appropriate, and what outcomes may look like, is determined individually and may differ by diagnosis

• Non medication approach

• Minimal side effects
