BrainStim provides clinician-led assessment and treatment options for eligible Veterans and First Responders. Suitability, risks and response vary by person and treatment.
Did you know? Many eligible Veterans may have coverage for approved mental-health services through Veterans Affairs Canada. Depending on the service and your VAC benefits, you may be able to contact BrainStim directly without first obtaining a referral. Coverage, authorization and clinical eligibility vary. Our Veteran Support Team can confirm the appropriate next steps.
Specialized Therapies
Our specialized approach includes dTMS, rTMS, and other treatment options, assessed and planned by our clinical team. We understand the complexities of service-related trauma and are committed to providing personalized treatment. Suitability, risks and response vary by person and treatment.
Deep TMS
A non-invasive treatment using magnetic pulses delivered according to a clinician-selected protocol. A clinician assesses whether it is appropriate based on diagnosis, previous treatment, and individual health factors.
Psychedelic Therapy
Psychotherapy combined with medically supervised treatment sessions. Its use in mental health treatment is off-label, and screening and assessment determine whether it is appropriate.
Psychotherapy
Collaborative sessions with a qualified therapist to explore thoughts, emotions, behaviours and coping strategies. The approach, goals and duration depend on individual needs and clinical assessment.

Legion Veterans Village Research Foundation and BrainStim Health are partnering to investigate a new brain stimulation program.
Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a non-invasive, drug-free therapy designed to support brain function, improve emotional wellbeing, and reduce physical pain.
Recruitment is now open. We welcome anyone who is eligible and interested.
B.C. ANCHOR Research Study: Eligibility
These criteria apply only to the ANCHOR research study in B.C. and are not general eligibility criteria for BrainStim care.
To participate in the ANCHOR study, an individual must be:
Veterans, aged 19+
Must be B.C. resident
Experiencing chronic pain and PTSD
Able to attend all visits and complete assessments
An individual is not eligible for the ANCHOR study if they have:
Metal implants near the head
Active seizures
Active substance use disorder
Pregnancy and/or nursing
